Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when you may be eligible for a refund and how you can cancel your subscription.

1. Scope

This policy applies to subscriptions purchased directly via quizgecko.com.

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, their own terms and refund processes apply instead (see section 2).

2. Mobile App Store Subscriptions

If you signed up via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you must manage your subscription and any refund requests directly with Apple or Google. Quizgecko cannot issue, approve, or override refunds for purchases made through mobile app stores.

3. General Rule

Except as set out in this policy, all subscription payments to Quizgecko are non-refundable.

You can cancel your subscription at any time, and your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. Cancelling your subscription does not automatically trigger a refund.

Because running advanced AI models and infrastructure is costly, we are not able to refund monthly renewal payments. You can always cancel to stop future renewals, but past monthly renewal charges are non-refundable.

4. Definitions (What Counts as a "Course"?)

For the purposes of this policy, a "course" means a single item of content you upload or create in Quizgecko that we turn into a quiz, flashcards, or lesson (for example: a PDF, set of lecture slides, web page, or other document).

If you create more than five courses in a billing period after a payment, that payment will not be eligible for a refund.

5. Eligibility for a Refund (Website Subscriptions Only)

As a courtesy, you may be eligible for a refund on your first subscription payment (including the first payment after a free trial), whether monthly or yearly, if all of the following conditions are met:

First payment only

The payment you are asking us to refund is your first subscription payment to Quizgecko on that account (including the first payment after a free trial).

We do not normally refund renewal payments, especially monthly renewals.

Time limit

Your refund request is made within 14 days of the payment date.

Limited usage: five courses or fewer

Since the payment you are asking us to refund, you have created no more than five courses in Quizgecko.

Account integrity

  • You have not used multiple accounts to sign up and abuse our free plan.
  • You have not shared your account login with others.

No prior subscription refund

You have not previously received a subscription refund from Quizgecko on this account or on another account that we reasonably believe is associated with you.

If any of the above conditions are not met, the payment will normally not be eligible for a refund.

6. Renewals and Subsequent Payments

Monthly subscriptions

Monthly renewal payments are non-refundable once processed, due to the high ongoing cost of running AI models and infrastructure.

You can cancel at any time to stop future renewals, and you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Annual subscriptions

Annual renewal payments are also non-refundable in the normal course.

In rare, exceptional circumstances (for example, a clear billing error), we may choose to offer a full or partial refund of the most recent annual payment at our sole discretion.

Any such exception will still be subject to the usage rule: if more than five courses have been created since that annual payment, we will not refund it.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund for an eligible payment:

  1. Log in to your Quizgecko account
  2. Visit the billing page
  3. Click "Contact Support" to submit your refund request

If you are unable to log in to your account, please visit our Help Center.

We will review your request in line with this policy and notify you whether it has been approved or declined.

8. Refund Processing

If your refund is approved, we will issue a refund to the original payment method used for the purchase wherever possible.

If we cannot refund to the original payment method (for example, if the card has expired), we will work with you to arrange a reasonable alternative.

Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

Your bank or payment provider may apply their own fees or currency conversion charges. These are outside our control; please contact them directly for details.

9. Limitations

We are unable to offer refunds:

  • Where the request is made more than 14 days after the payment date (for courtesy refunds),
  • Where more than five courses have been created since the payment you are asking us to refund (monthly or yearly),
  • For monthly renewal payments (see section 6), or
  • Where we reasonably believe our service has been fully or substantially used during the billing period.

If you have signed a separate organization or enterprise contract with Quizgecko, the refund and cancellation terms in that contract will apply instead of this policy.

10. Subscription Cancellations

You can cancel your Quizgecko subscription at any time by:

  • Signing in to your Quizgecko account, and
  • Visiting the billing page to manage or cancel your subscription.

The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and you will not be charged again.

We are unable to cancel subscriptions via support contact. For security reasons, please use the billing page to manage your subscription.

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically initiate a refund. Any refund must meet the eligibility criteria in this policy and be requested separately.

11. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Unless we are required by law to do otherwise, refunds are not available for:

  • Purchases made outside of Quizgecko's official sales channels (such as unauthorized third-party vendors or resellers),
  • Any custom or one-off services that explicitly state they are non-refundable at the time of purchase, or
  • Payments that do not meet the eligibility criteria set out in this policy.

12. Abuse of Refund Policy

We monitor refund requests to detect patterns that may suggest abuse (for example, repeated refunds, multiple accounts, or high usage followed by frequent refund requests).

Quizgecko reserves the right to:

  • Decline a refund request, and/or
  • Suspend or terminate access to the service

if we reasonably believe that our refund policy or terms have been abused.

13. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
